Talk about getting a gift you don’t want!! I said, no gifts this year! But the state of Ohio had other plans for me.

I thought I was out of the woods on crazy stuff happening this year. It’s almost Christmas! Then I checked USPS mail preview this morning- Jury Duty notification.

FML. What? Again? I was called last year! I must be on some list. I don’t know. This is not fun. I am not happy. I don’t think it’s because they love my opinions. I think 2022 had to throw one last punch in there.

With all this craziness going on in the world, why do we even have jury duty any more? Or taxes? The world is going to hell in a handbasket and we are arguing over the price of groceries and why is Doordash so expensive.

We are all focusing on MINUTIAE to avoid the big issues.

My cousin M. is worried about her holiday party on Saturday. My friend S. is worried about getting all her holiday baking done. I get asked, “you ready for Christmas?” I know it’s a polite conversation starter but the answer is no. We are going no gifts this year and my to-do list has been cut. I sent out exactly 2 holiday cards to my mom and aunt. That’s it. I did put up a tree to try and cheer myself up.
