Long Covid Stole Mark’s Life. Don’t Let It Steal Yours Too.
I recently came across this tweet:
Let’s break this down. Mark is 43 years old and works for 20 years, building up his business. He is healthy, and has no co-morbidities. Then one day he is out at a restaurant in mid-2020 and picks up Covid from someone.
No biggie, he thinks. It is just the flu and I’ll get over it.
After a month, he does not seem to get better. He has shortness of breath and gets tired easily. He has trouble focusing. He goes to the doctor but back in 2020, there is really nothing they can do for him.
He can’t work at the same pace he used to work at. He loses his business.
He luckily has savings but it is gone in less than two years. All that hard work for nothing!
Mark tries to apply for disability, but he is denied.
He is looking at 2021, with no hope. He decides to put off getting vaccinated. After all, he had Covid, isn’t he immune? That’s what the media keeps saying. He sporadically wears masks, usually only when the business or doctor’s office mandates it.
