Letters From The Time Traveler: What Won’t Exist In 30 Years
Dearest,
I am often asked what is going to disappear by 2054. And the answer is- many things.
Many things in 2024 that have been around a long time, will no longer exist.
Such as:
Watches
If you can believe it, watches were invented in the 1500s:
The first watches were invented around 1500, and were the result of the invention of the mainspring in the early 15th century. The first watches were made by German locksmith Peter Henlein (1485–1542) and were egg-shaped, designed to be worn in the pocket. They were called Nuremberg eggs and were manually wound.
With most keeping their timepiece on their cellphone, there really was no need for a wristwatch. Some old timers still sport the old Apple watches but most don’t.
