Letters From The Time Traveler: The Deep Freeze Messages From 2035

Dearest,

I miss those warm, pleasant days in front of our hearth. The smell of soup and homemade bread baking still brings back so many memories. I do not have a fireplace here in 2035, which is a shame. There is nothing like a fireplace to warm up on a cold winter day.

Well, make it a bitter-cold day. We are in the middle of five days of arctic air. Even with global warming, we are in a deep freeze- like it or not.

I am not a meteorologist and don’t claim to be one but global warming is vastly misunderstood.

Right now I am in the north, the American Midwest to be exact. The year 2035. And it is brutally cold here.

It has been this way for five days now. Schools and businesses are closed here today. We are all hunkered down in our homes.

Most people, except me, are not going out and about. And a big storm is heading in, 7–9 inches of snow this weekend!

Just look at this chaos global warming has caused this month alone:

Northerners for sure have to be tenacious to deal with such weather.

So many who are used to winter know it is just a season. They know spring will arrive eventually.

What they are not realizing is global warming does not always mean warm weather. It can mean this too:

These extreme cold temperatures are happening because of global warming, not despite it. Those in the north will have advantages in years to come but they will also have to get used to brutal winters.
