Letters from The Time Traveler: The Crash of Flight 5673

As you know, part of my job that is incredibly heart-breaking is seeing things happen that could have been avoided. In this situation, even if I had tried to warn the airline, “kooks” like me are constantly ignored.

In a way, an airliner accident, especially over the ocean, seems ghastly. And made worse when it is human error and entirely preventable.

The signs of the impending tragedy were evident as early as 2023. Pilots were overwhelmed and forced to work tired, sick with Covid, or just burned out. Planes were losing doors in mid-flight. Some planes were flying with broken wings!

For example, just in 2024:

United Airlines flight bound for Boston diverted to Denver due to wing issue
