Dearest Edith,

Time, my dear, is a very precious thing. We are taught not the waste it, not to squander it.

I feel those in 2025, squandered those last few years of “normal” life. They were so busy trying to be “normal” they lost the plot.

This was the general mood in 2022:

For those who were noticing life was changing, it did indeed become a slow-moving apocalypse. This led to many family and friendships ending between the realists and the rose-colored glass wearers.

The rose-colored glass wearers tended to be well off. I recently reported on the 2025 Have’s. My reporting on them was easy compared to the Have Not’s.

While the Have’s clung to money and power like a barnacle on a ship, the Have Not’s sunk beneath the waves.

From 2020–2025, it was a time, I’ll call it “Time of the Great Change”. Normal life was slipping through the fingers of those who had in a lot of ways, taken it for granted.

With the election of DeSantis as president, the elite/Republication/wealthy mission was complete. To form a two-class system, as it had been in the 1800s.

While back then, we (us) did not know any better and knew to stay in our station (which was determined at birth), there were many in the early 2020s who were not going to take it lying down.

I am going to share with you the story of one young girl, who was 15 at the time of the Great Change. I finished my report on her in 2025.

In 2020, I’ll call her Abby, was a normal, fun-loving high school student. College-bound and excited about the future, she got through that first plague year with relative ease. She did catch Covid that year but for her, it was “mild”.

In 2021, she headed off to college with stars in her eyes. Her parents were very proud of her and she was thinking her future looked bright.
