Letters From The Time Traveler: Droughts and No Water 2027

Dearest,

You might be surprised to learn that in 2027 there is a huge lack of water. It’s not just in other countries, it’s the United States as well.

Even those in states bordering large bodies of water like the Great Lakes are seeing record droughts:

It’s so strange to me that back when I was traveling in this area in the 1950s, water waste was so common.

Everyone who owned a home seemed to water their lawn on a daily basis during the summer months. People took long showers and pretty much wasted water all the time.

I have encouraged the Boomer neighbors not to waste water. They don’t seem to understand and act like there is an endless supply. They also question why I am questioning them, as I also appear to be a Boomer.

If they only knew I was 200 years old! I am from a time and a generation that doesn’t even exist anymore.

On the farm, we always reused water and were very conscious of not wasting it, as we had to get it from the well. We did not have…
