My dearest Edith,

How are you? How are the children? As you would expect, I went ahead with the Family Experiment. The results were not what I was expecting. In fact, it was the opposite.

I had lived in 2022 for almost a year, blending into society, dodging those who got too nosey for my liking. For historical and future purposes, I decided to report back on two families in my neighborhood. I wanted to detail how (if) they survived until 2030. How they were economically, medically, and socially.

After my much-failed trip to 2040, that ghastly trip must be forgotten, I decided to focus on two years- 2022 and then 2026. Both seemed like pivotal years for this experiment.

As you know, I have tried for years to save people. But I have come to the conclusion some do not want help. You can lead a horse to water but can’t make him drink, right? That kind of thing.

So I decided to go from trying to change people to observing their behavior to be able to report back on what NOT to do.

You will also see I included as they call them “screenshots” of items from Twitter, their communication tool, of the general mood of 2022. It is quite bleak to be sure.

However, their social media tools Instagram and Facebook, and the obnoxious Tik Tok are quite the opposite. Complete delusional madness. Happy, materialistic and silly. Living in a pre-2019 world.

There are many who are quite stubborn in 2022. Obstinate really. Then there are those who seem to have the foresight to prepare.
