My DC Trip Was Epic and Unforgettable
I just got back from a very epic trip to DC. The last time I had been there was 1997. So even though it’s only a 6-hour drive, I haven’t been back.
My husband secured tickets to tour the White House. My son and I made the drive on a Monday and came back on a Wednesday. Our hotel was 2 blocks from the White House, which was also amazing.
The first day was a private meeting, with the star speaker, Bernie Sanders!
He is a huge supporter of unions. We attended the reception and he gave a fiery speech about the working class. I was in awe. Then he walked past us, but I got too starstruck to try and shake his hand.
We visited the Natural History Museum and toured the National Mall the next day. It was very hot there, 90’s with a crazy humidity level. I live in Ohio, I am not used to this kind of humidity!
