I've only been on Medium a year but I have already noticed lots of changes that past month. It is like night and day, the articles promoted in the daily newsletter. I became a Medium writer because of the personal essays and the fun content. I try to provide that fun, thoughtful content too but it's hard when our words aren't reaching our audience. It's discouraging.

I have seen consistently these past few weeks, writers leaving the platform. These are good writers, dropping off or cutting back on their writing. Medium is losing a LOT of good writers. I hope they notice this before it's too late. Medium's strength is a variety of voices, not just one kind of "expert" voice. We are all experts of our own lives. I enjoy the Medium community and hope it keeps its charming variety of voices.
