I have a few happy places I love to go to. Of course, my own home, visiting my son at college, and Costco.

It used to be Target. I would go in once a week, the cashiers knew who I was and it was a lot of fun. The clearance was abundant and the store was well organized. I saved (and spent) so much money there.

Then the pandemic hit. And the clearance disappeared. It did not help that Target has embraced “returnless refunds” where they will give back your cash, but you can keep the item. This was due to an overflow of merchandise.

So the clearance sucks now and the aisles are filled with boxes and junk. It is not fun to shop there.

I love shopping and so I had to find another place to hang out. And snag some deals. Costco won. Sam’s Club is too far away, though their prices can be better than Costco's.

But now, Dave Ramsey is coming for my Costco. And I am not happy.

Ramsey says there are two problems with Costco: Large quantities and items spoil before they can be used:
