I Time Traveled Back to 1995 at John Mulaney’s Comedy Show

Last night, my husband and I drove over 2 hours to see John Mulaney’s show. We have been super fans for over 5 years and have been to 4 of his shows.

This one was a little different though. We were required to lock up our phones.

My husband warned me ahead of time that I wouldn’t be able to use my phone. And I was taken aback. I get it’s to protect the show, that the comedian does not want their show recorded. Or the audience to keep snapping photos.

But this was beyond for me. I am not super attached to my phone but I am enough when in public. I use my phone to keep track of the time and to pass the time.

So we got this pouch and put our phones in:

I was nervous and was glad at least I was not sitting there alone with no phone. But it started to unnerve me that I did not know what time it was.
