I Am Jealous Of The Amish and Here’s Why
As we all try to live through this time of record-high inflation, one group is made in the shade right now- the Amish.
Now I am from NY and did not have much exposure to the Amish before moving here. My knowledge of the Amish consisted of the Weird Al video:
I did not see an Amish person in real life until I moved to Ohio. And what a shock that was. I am obsessed with all things from the 1800s. So to see someone riding in a horse and buggy, wearing old-fashioned clothes, was almost too much for me.
I tried to take their photo but my husband had to stop me saying “They don’t like their photo taken.” I felt like I was an Amish paparazzi and put down the phone.
As I dubbed it, southern Ohio to me is “Amish World”. I love it and am in awe of their lifestyle. My husband thinks it’s funny how much I admire them.
