I’m a creative person but not crafty at all. On the other hand, my sister is very artsy and a great painter and crafter.
So when I decided to try my hand at selling on Etsy, I didn’t know what I would even be able to sell.
After doing some research, I found out there is a lot that can be sold on Etsy, that’s not a craft!
If you want to sell on Etsy, try some of these ideas:
CRAFT SUPPLIES
Have extra craft supplies from your last project? Got a good deal at Michael’s but can’t possibly use everything?
Etsy is a good place to sell your old supplies. Be sure to take great photos and show off the angle, texture, size, and more.
Or you could also buy them wholesale and then resell them.

HARD TO FIND ITEMS
This really could fall under any category but look for items at thrift sales like vintage clothing and jewelry. Even Goodwill might have some gems that can be resealable.
VINTAGE ITEMS
This takes a little more time but try heading out to the following sources for vintage items:
- yard sales
- estate sales
- antique stores
- eBay
- thrift stores
- flea markers
Before investing a lot of money, be sure to. check Etsy first to see if the item(s) is popular.
What type of items should you look for? Here are some popular choices:
- VHS tapes (this was a surprise to me, I have a ton of tapes in my basement)
- Old toys (my son’s toys from 15+ years ago might be worth something!)
- Vintage jewelry
- Old video game systems (I think my husband might have an old system in the basement)
- Old magazines (I might have some of these too. I know I have some from my grandmother from the 1950's)
- Old records (vintage records, or as the kids call it vinyl, is super popular right now. Records have been making a big comeback.)
- China and glassware (I have several pieces from the 1800's)
- Clothing from different times (I don’t have as much clothing but have some costume jewelry)
- Old books (I have a lot of old books from my grandmother and great grandfather).

I have a design background and this is something I have looked into. It is easy to create fun printables on Canva. What kind of printable sells?
