Pandemic? Supply Chain Crisis? I Still Need My Black Friday Deals
Or how I perceive the thinking of the bargain hunters this year! And then I read this tweet:
Exactly!! And the media loves people literally breaking down the doors and fighting over TVs. It makes for highly-rated nightly news, right?
THE HYPE IS REAL
Marketers love the Black Friday weekend and have now turned it into Black Friday month. I have been running a deal site for 20 years and have noticed a lot of changes in how Black Friday is presented and how good the deals are.
When I first started Black Friday shopping, we would go out to the mall, look at the holiday decorations and then go out to lunch. For us, it wasn’t about the doorbusters.
It’s a nice 25 year family tradition. We have also gone bowling, went to movies and traveled to Columbus.
But the hardcore people who sleep in tents days before the sales, I don’t understand.
This article from Moneycrashers, tells you exactly what you need to camp out. Even in a pandemic, you will find people doing this.
AVOID THE HYPE, STAY HOME
This is my best advice- stay home. Especially in a pandemic, is it worth a $9 cookware set or a $100 flatscreen tv? Online stores like Amazon, Target, Best Buy and Walmart have nearly the same exact deals online. And it’s much easier than battling crowds and fighting with people over the last tv.
