Facebook “Thoughts and Prayers” Are Useless. Here’s How To Actually Help People.

I have been struggling with laryngitis for about two months now. For someone who likes to talk, this has been trying. I’m a nonsmoker and drinker so I think it’s more related to the Mounjarno I am on.
I finally went to the doctor three weeks ago. They sent me to an ENT, who did a nasal endoscopy (not pleasant). The results have been good so far.
And now I have an endoscopy (under anesthesia) coming up end of September. I have not been under anesthesia for 10 years. I don’t react well to it, it seems to stay in my system longer than it should.
I shared it on my private Facebook page. Now come the thoughts and prayers! on Facebook.
I should have learned my lesson a long time ago that all these empty, trite messages don’t mean anything. And to keep my private health off social media.
I do for the most part. I have gone through a lot medically, no one knows about, including my mother-in-law. No one.
I privately wrote her and a few other family members and they are like “hope you feel better soon!” blahjablablblablah. The one asked when the appt was so she could schedule family events around it. I have not…
