Bad News From the Doctor? Here’s Why You Shouldn’t Say ‘At Least It’s Not Cancer’
I just got back from my first physical at the doctor in a while. I had a bunch of blood work and a lot of it came back bad. I have more testing coming up and it sucks.
I am stubbornly anemic, despite taking iron pills and I am solidly in perimenopause, which by itself is a challenge.
I also just found out I have fibroids that, unbeknownst to me, have caused a lot of health issues over the years.
I am going to get them removed because the wait-and-see approach has caused a lot of issues.
I have a lot of chronic illnesses, I’m not going to name all of them, but it’s a challenge to manage all this. And I am only 48 years old.
So I confided in a good friend, who has good health and as they were trying to help me feel better said:
“At least it’s not cancer!”
WTF. So anything else that someone has does not count? From diabetes to high blood pressure and anemia, none of the rest of…
