7+ Telltale Signs Someone Is Super Broke and Trying to Hide It

I have noticed among some of the broke people I know, that they have the following- in abundance. They are trying so hard to look well off the opposite effect is happening. It becomes obvious they are posers.

DESIGNER CLOTHING

I am a very down-to-earth dresser and not into labels. I like a nice bag but I don’t need to spend $500 on it. It’s kind of irritating though to see someone walking around with an expensive bag and a paystub from Chipotle in it. At $20/hour (if they are lucky), it will take them 25 hours of their life to pay for that bag.

CIGARETTES AND A BIG GULP

I was in line at Walgreens the other day and saw a guy smoking and chugging a big gulp in the parking lot. And yes it’s judgemental but the first thing I thought was “he is broke!”.

I know of a few smokers who seem smart in other areas of their life- except for smoking. My grandmother on my dad’s side died of lung cancer when I was 2. I never got to know her. It sucks that because she was hooked on smoking, she died much sooner than she should have.
