The 2020’s: The Era of Unpredictability
I think when iconic Betty White passed away, on New Year’s Eve, just short of her 100th birthday, it was a sign to me- unexpected things are on the way.
My family and I rang in 2022 watching Golden Girl’s reruns on Hulu and reminiscing about the past. The 80's now seem quaint and easy.
Now 40 years later, we are all hoping for a better and different 2022. We all want to hold onto a glimmer of hope, make some New Year’s resolutions and be NORMAL. But I fear the 2020 curse is just going to continue…
Have you ever heard the expression, “May you live in interesting times”? It is an English expression that is claimed to be a translation of a traditional Chinese curse. While seemingly a blessing, the expression is normally used ironically; life is better in “uninteresting times” of peace and tranquility than in “interesting” ones, which are usually times of trouble. (source Wikipedia).
It really describes what we all have been going through, now going on Year 3. Life seemed normal up until 2019, then the bottom fell out.
So how do we maneuver and pivot through a future that seems fraught with problems?
